2020 is the year of the pandemia covid-19. but ist also the year, where polital directions will be different from the past. of course all started much earlier, but now the results are seen much clearer.

NORTH KOREA.

US

in the us, president trump is in his forth year of presidency. elections will take place at the end of 2020. joe biden will be the candidate of the democrats. the country is more divided than ever. corona makes millions of people jobless. historical international alliences seem to be structures of the past. what will follow next. how will america decide in november?

the race was pretty close and there was lots of uncertainty about the outcome of the election. it all culminated on january 6 2021, when trump supporters stormed the white house….which of course could be defended. the new president biden had chose kamela harris as his vicepresident and they both ruled the country for 4 years. 2024 then was the year of elections again. although burden through a number of legal battles, trump became the nominee of the republicans, biden the nominee of the democrats. as expected, the race between both candidates became most fiercefull. however in their first public debate, biden appeared very weak physically and also slow mentally. democratic pressure started to build up and biden finally resigned from his candidacy. instead, camela harris became the new presidential candidate for the democratic party now. even bevore the official democratic congress in august, harris was online supported by 99% of the delegates. a new race started now. trump against harris…white against black….man against woman….! trump chose j.d.vance as his vp candidate. harris chose waltz as her vp candidate. public appearances, almost daily, followed. open seemed still, when and how public debates between the candidates will occur………

RUSSIA

russia seems to be more and more putin. and of course putin is russia. international politics and opinions vis a vis russia vary from country to country…even within populations….some see russia as a democratic country, others not. some see the oil pipeline beneficial for germany and europe, others not. anyhow, it seems that putin with will continue to be russia for a long time to come.

CHINA

covid-19. it all started here in december 2019 already. probably at a market in wuhan. the city was locked down later. the pandemia seem to be under control and now in may 2020, economy and general seems to to be a good track back to normality.

leadership in bejing seems very visible in these times. also internationally. medical equipment and masks are being supplied to italy, but also other countries.

but what is china up to next? what will be there role in a future world? economically and militarily? how democratic will they structure there own society? what will be the result of the new silk road? many questions remain. and the chinese now have a leader, who, according to new rules, can govern for a lifetime.

and russia again: it was february 2022. more and more russian military assembled at the eastern borders of the ukraine. the russians assured that this was a military execise only, while the was devided about the seriousness of that situation. especially germany seemed to be very ‘blue-eyed’. but then one day, the russians started to invade the ukraine and a long tarrible war began…
