well.it has been a long time. but now i am back. many things have happened in the meantime. not all to the better!!!! Trumps presidency, starting 2016, ended 2020. from thereon the democrats und president Biden were runnning the US. then in 2022 the russians started a war against the ukraine. and this happened after they already took the island krim away from the ukraine.

the war dragged on and great areas were occupied in east ukraine. although america and europe heavily supported the ukraine with sanctions, money and weapons, nothing could stop the russians.

then in 2024 Trump was again elected to become president of the united states. he (at least temporily) stopped the war in middle east and thought, that he could stop the war between russia and the ukraine easily….but this did not happen. while talks between the us, russia and the ukraine exist, russia continues its terrible aggression every day and every night. today is december 18/2025 and no peace is in sight.

in germany there is a new chancellor, after the last government under olaf scholz broke apart in 2024. the new chancellor is friedrich merz (a longstanding friend of mine). the only way to get a majority was to make a coalition with the social democrats. in this partnership decisions are very difficult to accomplish….cdu and spd are very very different cultures. they are aware of the challenge, but still, they fight hard for each compromise, although the country must change its course: the rightist party AFD now succeeds cdu in polls and is the strongest party now. the new tariffs, implemented by trump are a serious economic challenge not only for germany and europe but also major parts of the world. then, germany is leading in climate change actions and now has the highest energy prices in europe. the social cost are increasing too fast and are a major financial burden. and then burocracy…..etc.
